Philip Roberts Models builds prototypes, engineering and appearance models for engineers and the design, medical and product industries.

We have been building models since April of 1988 in the same location, downtown Palo Alto. We focus on strong communication with our clients and between ourselves as a team of model makers building exactly what our clients need. Timeliness, quality and correct interpretation are our hallmarks.

We use FADAL CNC machining centers and Surfcam toolpath programming to create models in aluminum, plastics and composites. We are a full-service model shop taking on everything from creating or modifying 3D geometry from 2D sketches to finish painting and texturing. We design the models to fit your parameters.

In house we thermoform plastic (2 foot by 3 foot platten), cut, machine and turn all plastics, composites and nonferrous metals. We hand finish and hand- or vapor polish plastics and aluminum. We make RTV silicone or machined acrylic molds for polyurethane casting. We color match paint, match textures and gloss levels in both opaques and translucents.

We have a deep and wide network of trustworthy subcontractors for overflow work as well as for ferrous metal machining, electroplating, anodizing, laser cutting, INTs, and SLA work.
